Tupai kekes has a distinctive feature, namely a longer snout. The length of the head and body is between 160 – 200 mm, the tail length ranges from 170 – 180 mm, pink in color, the upper part is olive brown and the underside is yellowish gray or yellowish, has 38 teeth, the incisors are pointed unlike squirrels, and it has five clawed toes on each foot.
