IPB University once again held the Jelajah IPB 2025 event at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Dramaga Campus, Bogor (10/4-5). This event was attended by more than 2.000 high school students from various regions in Indonesia.

In his speech, Rector Prof Arif Satria emphasized the importance of mastering future skills for the younger generation, especially prospective IPB University students. According to him, the skills needed in the future are no longer the same as those in the past.

“We can no longer rely on the skills of the past, or even the skills of today. In 2020–2030, the most needed skills will be analytical thinking, resilience, flexibility, and agility,” said Prof Arif.

He emphasized that resilience in facing challenges is key in the era of Society 5.0. “Gen Z is often considered less resilient. Therefore, IPB strives to develop students who are resilient, adaptable, and able to face change,” he added.

In addition to resilience, Prof Arif also highlighted nine other skills developed by IPB University, namely analytical thinking, social influence, creative thinking, strong motivation and self-awareness, technological literacy, empathy, lifelong learning, talent management, and service orientation.

“Einstein once said, once you stop learning, you start dying. Therefore, building a learning spirit is important for IPB students,” he said.

Furthermore, Prof Arif explained that IPB is the first university in Indonesia to implement an AI-based Talent Management system. This system maps students’ potential from the outset to build a roadmap for their career development. “Our AI can detect students’ strengths and weaknesses. From there, we build coaching paths such as Startup School, CEO School, and Business Mentoring,” he explained.

Over the course of two days, Jelajah IPB 2025 presented a lively and inspiring campus atmosphere. Thousands of participants attended the faculty expo to learn about study programs and faculties at IPB University, tried being a student for a day through One Day as Student (ODAS), toured the campus, and participated in tryouts and academic consultations. The event concluded with an awarding ceremony and an inspirational message reaffirming the campus’s commitment to nurturing innovative, integrity-driven generations ready to lead the nation’s future.
