IPB University Delegation Wins Four Medals at Pomnas XIX 2025
IPB University students once again made outstanding achievements at the XIX National Student Sports Week (Pomnas) held in Semarang and Solo, Central Java, from September 19th to 27th, 2025.
Out of the six sports disciplines they participated in, the IPB University delegation brought home four medals, consisting of one silver and three bronze.
“This achievement is one of the proofs that IPB University students can compete with other national athletes. We will continue to support student activities that excel at both national and international levels,” said Dr Beginer Subhan, Director of Student Affairs at IPB University.
The four medals were won by:
-
Syifa Nur Alifiansyah, Men’s Team Karate Kata (Silver)
-
Ghassan Hauzannul Azmi, Men’s Tarung Derajat Class 64,1–67 kg (Bronze)
-
Bumi Arkananta Benjamin, Men’s 67,1–70 kg Tarung Derajat (Bronze)

In this event, IPB University students were part of the West Java contingent. Since April 2025, preparations have been made, starting from internal selection to regional selection by BAPOMI West Java. A total of 11 athletes and 2 managers were finally selected to represent IPB University in six sports: karate, tarung derajat, pencak silat, archery, tennis, and wushu.
“This year’s Pomnas was full of dynamics. However, with the same spirit and goal, we managed to get through it,” said Abdul Qodir, SSos, MM, Supervisor of Student Sports and Arts Development, Directorate of Student Affairs, IPB University.
In addition to achieving outstanding results, Pomnas also serves as a talent development forum and a selection event for higher levels. “On behalf of my fellow delegates, I would like to thank IPB University for its support. I hope that all athletes who have fought hard will be appreciated, not just the medalists,” said one of the medalists.
IPB University emphasizes that achievements at Pomnas XIX are not just about sports, but also evidence of students’ ability to balance academics, training, and a commitment to excellence. Moving forward, these achievements are expected to inspire more IPB students to compete at both national and international levels. (*/Rz) (IAAS/NRA)
