Rector Prof Arif Satria inaugurated 18 new structural officials at IPB University. The event took place at Graha Widya Wisuda, IPB Dramaga Campus (9/30).

In his speech, Prof Arif said that this inauguration was an important moment to strengthen the commitment to integrity, the spirit of adaptation, and to foster a happy work culture.

He gave three main messages that he believed were the keys to success in carrying out the mandate of the position.

First, integrity is the foundation for building trust. According to him, a person’s credibility is formed from a combination of integrity and capability, coupled with a willingness to put aside personal interests.

“The formula for trust is integrity plus capability, minus self-interest. People who are honest and competent, but too self-centered, will still be difficult to trust,” said Prof Arif.

Second, the ability to adapt is an important asset for new officials who now have different responsibilities than before.

“The confidence to learn quickly and adapt quickly will be the key to success. With good adaptation, we will be easily accepted in a new work environment,” he said.

Third, Prof Arif emphasized the importance of working with heart and happiness. He encouraged all officials to love their duties so that they can work with passion, grit, and life balance.

“Working happily will make us more productive. Don’t forget to maintain work-life balance, exercise, and build good communication with family, because family support is an important key to our success,” he advised.

Furthermore, Prof Arif reminded everyone that IPB University belongs to all. Every official and member of the academic community has an important contribution to make in realizing the campus’s grand vision.

“IPB cannot grow just because of one or two people. All components of IPB must move together, understand the vision, mission, and strategic programs, so that every step we take is part of a grand plan for the advancement of IPB,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Resource and Infrastructure Resilience, Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, emphasized that this inauguration also serves as a stepping stone to welcome 2026 as an important milestone in the Global Adjustment agenda.

“Our key is integrity, hard work, and putting aside self-interest. With that, IPB will become more advanced and globally competitive,” he said.

The inauguration of these new officials is expected to strengthen the solidarity and commitment of all elements of IPB University in making a real contribution to the nation and the world. (*/Rz) (IAAS/KDP)
