Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University, Prof Irfan Syauqi Beik, won the Principal/Dean of the Year award. The award was presented by the London School of Digital Business (LSDB) on Thursday (9/25) at the LSDB’s Educational Awards Program 2025.

LSDB is a digital training and certification company with a network spanning dozens of countries and thousands of alumni.

“At first, I was a bit surprised when I was contacted via LinkedIn in mid-July 2025. They conducted profiling on individuals active in the education sector based on our LinkedIn accounts, then conducted further research using available digital information to assess our global contributions. I was then contacted and asked to submit my curriculum vitae as final validation,” Prof Irfan shared on (9/26).

“Apparently, I, thank God, met their criteria. Moreover, there were no costs and no obligations on my part, so I decided to accept this award. Thank God, I never expected that my activities as Dean of FEM IPB University would also be on the radar of other monitoring parties such as LSDB,” he continued.

Prof Irfan feels happy and grateful for the award he has just received. He is also very grateful to the rector, vice rectors, fellow deans, and other IPB University leaders.

“Also to my team at FEM, namely the vice deans, department heads and secretaries, heads and staff of the administrative section, all lecturers, educational staff, and FEM students. Without them, we would be nothing,” he said.

For Prof Irfan, the award serves as motivation to continue improving his capacity while also striving to enhance FEM’s performance through various innovations and effective policies, so that IPB University’s vision and mission to become a global leader in the South-South can be achieved.

“Alhamdulillah, for me, this is a form of appreciation for the entire FEM IPB University family and motivates us to continue to do our best,” he said enthusiastically.

Prof Irfan hopes that in the future, FEM can continue to improve the quality of its tridharma, so that it can remain steadfast as a cradle for the training of future leaders. “I invite all members of the FEM academic community to continue to do their best until the end of their lives. Never tire of loving FEM, loving IPB University, and loving this country,” he said.

“Moving forward, I will also continue to strengthen and expand our global network so that FEM’s position and influence on the world stage can grow even stronger,” Prof Irfan concluded. (MHT) (IAAS/KQA)
