The 2025 Healthy Morning Walk (Japas), part of the 62nd Anniversary celebrations of IPB University, took place on Saturday (9/13). The event was attended by more than 10.000 participants from various backgrounds who gathered at the IPB University Rectorate Field.

According to data, the number of JAPAS participants reached 10.062 people. Of this number, 49,82 percent were general participants, 32,18 percent were students, and 18 percent were IPB University employees.

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, opened the event with great enthusiasm. He prayed for all participants to always be healthy, blessed with sustenance, and continue to maintain togetherness.

“Let us make this healthy walk a moment of brotherhood and solidarity. Togetherness like this is an important asset for IPB University in the future,” he said.

Kicking off the release of participants, Prof Arif invited all participants to start with optimism. “Let us walk together, maintain our health, and contribute to a greener earth. Insha Allah, with good intentions, this activity will bring blessings to us all,” he said before leading the countdown to the start of this year’s Japas.

Director of Cooperation, Communication, and Marketing, Dr Alfian Helmi, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiasm of the participants. “Alhamdulillah, this event was attended by more than 10.000 participants from various backgrounds.”

“This year’s Japas route circled the campus for five kilometers, starting from the Rectorate Field, passing through SDGs Lake, Cikabayan Lab, Sadifa Garden, Al-Hurriyyah Mosque, Library, Faculty of Human Ecology, then back to the starting point,” he explained.

Dr Helmi emphasized that Japas is not only intended for physical health, but also to strengthen social bonds. “We hope that this activity can strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, both internally within the IPB family and externally with the community around the campus. In addition, the values of sportsmanship and art can also be further instilled in the IPB academic community,” he said.

In addition to the health walk, the organizing committee also featured a bazaar, a creative student parade, recognition for sports tournament winners, and entertainment. Participants also had the opportunity to take home attractive door prizes, ranging from bicycles, laptops, to other surprise gifts.
