IPB University and UMMI Bogor University Forge Collaboration to Strengthen Health Research and Education
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, and the Rector of UMMI Bogor University, Prof Rokhmin Dahuri, have agreed to strengthen cooperation in research, education, and the development of health facilities.
In his remarks, the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, emphasized that the success of a university is determined not only by academic intelligence, but also by the ability to build relationships and personal excellence.
“Success factors are not only IQ or GPA, but also the ability to get along with people and maintain good relations with others,” he said during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding at the IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (8/16).
Prof Arif stated that UMMI has great potential as a private university focusing on the health sector. According to him, the opening of the nursing study program and the strengthening of the medical field are the right steps, as the need for medical personnel in Indonesia remains very high.
“UMMI, with its smaller scale, actually has agility and maneuvering advantages. That is a major asset for rapid development in the health sector,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Prof Rokhmin Dahuri expressed high appreciation for IPB University, which ranks among the top five national universities. He believes that IPB University, under the leadership of Prof Arif Satria, has made remarkable achievements in innovation and research.
“Prof Arif has proven his leadership by prioritizing soft skills, embracing all parties, and leading IPB University to top research achievements,” said Prof Rokhmin.
He added that UMMI, as a relatively young university, is committed to establishing strategic collaborations, especially through UMMI Hospital, which during the COVID-19 pandemic became a main referral center in Bogor.
Prof Rokhmin also opened the opportunity for UMMI Hospital to function as a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine at IPB University.
“We are honored to be able to synergize with IPB University. Hopefully, in the future, UMMI Hospital can become the teaching hospital for IPB University,” he said. (dr) (IAAS/KMR)
