IPB University, through the Directorate of Human Resources and Agrianita, organized a Fun Gathering event for employees’ children. The event took place at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), IPB University’s Dramaga Campus, on Saturday (12/7).

The Fun Gathering was held with great joy and a spirit of togetherness. A total of 570 participants took part in the event, including 417 children of IPB University employees who are recipients of the Education Cost Assistance Program (BBP) and 153 foster children from the Agrianita Foster Parent Movement (GOTA) across various educational levels.

This year, IPB University provided educational assistance to 681 children of employees, including 300 elementary school students, 196 junior high school students, and 185 high school students. Starting in 2025, IPB University will also provide the IPB Talent Scholarship (BTI) for all children of employees continuing their undergraduate or applied undergraduate studies at IPB University.

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, was present to express appreciation and motivation to the children of employees as they welcomed the new academic year. In his remarks, he referred to the children of IPB University employees as future leaders.

“May the children of IPB University employees become beneficial individuals, blessed, healthy, intelligent, of noble character, and possess a pioneering spirit. If Indonesia wants to progress, we must be people with a pioneering spirit. The mindset to bring about changes for the better,” he said.

He added, “We strive to support the children of staff members so they can acquire useful knowledge, become true learners, continue to love learning, love school, and most importantly, have aspirations.”

During the event, the Rector also encouraged the children to dare to dream as high as possible. To become doctors, professors, governors, or even presidents in the future. He prayed that all their aspirations would be realized and that they would become individuals who bring benefits to many people.

“May all of you become individuals who continue to bring benefits, for the best of humanity is those who are most beneficial to others,” he concluded.

The excitement of the Fun Gathering was further enhanced by motivational training for middle and high school students. Meanwhile, elementary school students participated in educational games. All educational and motivational activities were guided by national motivator and IPB University alumnus Aris Ahmad Jaya, along with the ABCo Sugesti Motivatindo team.

Retna Widayawati, Chairperson of Agrianita IPB University, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet children with bright futures. She also appreciated the role of parents who allowed their children to participate in the event.

“This is not just a fun gathering, but a character-building event. An event to reinforce one intention, one spirit, so that the children promise themselves that they must become great people,” she said.

Furthermore, she emphasized that every child born into the world is a great child, regardless of their parents’ background.

“No matter what our parents’ circumstances are, we must be grateful. Because greatness does not depend on one’s parents’ background. A great child comes from their own motivation and desire,” she stressed.

She also reminded the children to have a strong resolve and dare to dream big for their future. “Dreams are free; dreams don’t cost anything. If we dare to dream, insha’Allah, the angels will also pray for our dreams to come true,” she concluded.

Retna hopes this activity will motivate children to continue learning enthusiastically and become an outstanding generation that benefits many people. (AS) (IAAS/LAN)
