IPB University demonstrates a genuine commitment to supporting agricultural-based village development and environmental conservation. This is realized through the provision of golden tickets and full scholarships for the children of coffee farmers in Cibulao Village, Tugu Utara, Cisarua District, Bogor Regency.

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, explained that this initiative is not merely a form of appreciation for the hard work of farmers, but also a strategic step to prepare a younger generation capable of building villages and the agricultural sector in Indonesia more broadly.

“IPB University provides golden tickets and scholarships for high school or vocational school graduates from farming families in Cibulao so that they can enter IPB University through a special pathway,” said Prof Arif Satria after attending a conservation coffee harvest in Cibulao, Wednesday (6/18).

He added, “With this golden ticket, the children of farmers in Cibulao Village can access higher education at IPB University. They will gain knowledge that can be utilized to develop this area and national agriculture in general.”

One of the recipients of the golden ticket is Sri Astuti (19 years old), affectionately called Asti, a graduate of SMK Negeri 1 Cipanas. The daughter of one of the coffee farmers in Cibulao expressed her gratitude.

“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy, especially since I received the golden ticket directly. I am proud of my father’s hard work,” said Asti.

Asti has a strong interest in agriculture. She chose the Agronomy and Horticulture Study Program (AGH) at the Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, with the ambition of developing her hometown.

“My hope is that in the future, I can develop the knowledge I learn at IPB for the community, especially for Cibulao Village,” she stated.

The provision of golden tickets and scholarships has been warmly welcomed by the Cibulao community, including Kang Yono, a representative from the Cibulao Forest Farmers Group (KTH). He believes that the presence of IPB University brings significant changes, not only in the agricultural sector but also in improving the quality of human resources (HR).

“Alhamdulillah, our HR quality has improved. Now we can even carry out conservation better. Our dreams of sending our children to higher education are, alhamdulillah, starting to come true,” Kang Yono expressed.

Through this program, IPB University reaffirms its commitment to building villages from various economic, environmental, and educational aspects by making the children of farmers the pillars of future development. (IAAS/KMR)
