IPB University and the Kendari City Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The focus of the collaboration includes the development of Precision Village Data, Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN), and the provision of Regional Representative Scholarships (BUD).

The Mayor of Kendari and his delegation were received by the Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof Iskandar Z. Siregar, at the Dramaga Campus on Friday (6/13).

Regarding Precision Village Data, Prof Iskandar explained that data-driven development can drive regional and national progress. This is achieved because Precision Village Data (DDP) generates accurate, comprehensive, and real-time data on community conditions down to the village level.

Additionally, he hopes the scope of cooperation will be expanded to develop other potentials in Kendari, such as the endemic flora and fauna of Central and South Sulawesi, which have an interesting geological history.

“Students can also participate in the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKN Tematik) and develop the One Village One CEO (OVOC) program, which we have successfully implemented in Jambi and West Kalimantan,” he said.

Furthermore, IPB University offers the Regional Scholarship Program (BUD) for the best sons and daughters of Kendari City to pursue their education at IPB University. “The hope is that after graduating, they can return and contribute to the development of Kendari,” he concluded.

The Mayor of Kendari, Dr Siska Karina Imran, expressed her deepest gratitude and appreciation to IPB University for this acceptance and opportunity for collaboration.

“This agreement is not merely a signing on paper, but a bond and collaboration that is expected to bring many tangible benefits to the city of Kendari,” she said.

She added that the collaboration between IPB University and the Kendari City Government will serve as the main guide for Kendari City to develop digitalization and information programs, particularly precision data programs in Kendari City.

“The Kendari City Government feels very fortunate to have established this collaboration. I am confident that this collaboration will drive various innovations and solutions in addressing national development challenges and globalization,” she said.

She hopes that this collaboration will materialize in concrete activities, whether in research, community development, or educational and collaborative programs that directly benefit the residents of Kendari City. “We are fully committed to supporting and collaborating on this initiative,” she concluded.
