Independent Selection for IPB University is Ready to Open

IPB University, as in previous years, opens the IPB Entrance Self Selection (SM-IPB) for the academic year 2025/2026. 

This pathway provides broad opportunities for SMA/MA/SMK graduates who will continue their education in the Bachelor (S1) and Applied Bachelor (D4) programs. 

The SM-IPB test material is in the form of a Scholastic Ability Test with a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) approach.

In 2025, IPB University re-opened the SM-IPB pathway for the Bachelor program (S1), the Applied Bachelor program (D4), and the International Class of the Bachelor program (S1).

1. SM-IPB Undergraduate Program (S1)

The SM-IPB undergraduate program uses a new scheme, namely the online exam method. Participants who are entitled to take the SM-IPB online exam for the undergraduate program are divided into two, namely: 

1) SM-IPB Eligible SNBP 2025 (SNBP 2025 participants who are not accepted as new students at any PTN).

2) SM-IPB Eligible UTBK Score (students who graduated in the last three years who participated in UTBK-SNBT in 2025, including Package C graduates with a maximum age of 25 years as of July 1, 2025).

Participants must choose one of these entry points because the online exam will be held simultaneously, both the SM-IPB Eligible SNBP and SM-IPB Eligible UTBK Score pathways.

2. SM-IPB Applied Bachelor Program (D4)

Unlike the S1 program, the SM-IPB D4 program uses two selection methods, namely: 

1) Exam scores conducted by IPB University online from home.

2) UTBK-SNBP score in 2025 organized by the National Selection Committee for New Student Admission (SNPMB).

Students who can register are graduates of SMA/MA/SMK in the last three years (2023, 2024, 2025) or graduates of Paket C (2023, 2024, and 2025) with a maximum age of 25 years as of July 1, 2025.

Participants can choose one or both entry points. Selection will be carried out in each method.

3. SM-IPB International Class

SM-IPB International Class is intended for Indonesian citizens, both foreign and domestic school graduates who choose the International Class for undergraduate programs. Examinations are conducted in English. Additional veterinary exam is applied for applicants of Veterinary Medicine study program.

International Class SM-IPB participants are expected to have a certificate of English proficiency from an official institution, namely: TOEFL iBT (min. score 53)/TOEFL ITP (min. score 477)/IELTS (min. score 5.5), Duolingo (min. score 80), MUET (min. score 3.5 or 164-210). If you do not have these certificates, you are required to take the English Language Test.
