Faculty of Medicine of IPB University Expands Cooperation with Australia

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria together with Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of IPB University, Dr dr Ivan Sini, SpOG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Flinders University, Australia. This cooperation is a strategic effort to strengthen academic excellence and encourage impactful research.

The delegation, led by the Rector, held a series of high-level discussions with leaders and delegates from Flinders University to explore opportunities for cooperation that focus on research in the field of medicine, including human genomics, nutrition and community medicine. 

“IPB University reaffirms its commitment to produce competent graduates and research that has a direct impact on improving public health, both at the national and global levels,” said Rector.

Cooperation in academics and medical education is also one of the agendas discussed with the institution. Delegates from IPB University who also attended were dr Naufal Muharam, MSc; dr Mohammad Arief Kurniawan SpAn-TI; and dr Aisyah Amanda Hanif, MSc.

Currently, IPB University is preparing a research center that will refer to several practices that have been carried out in Australia. In preparing this, the delegation of IPB University also visited the University of South Australia and the University of Adelaide. 

“During this visit, the delegation team conducted a series of discussions and visits to laboratories to identify cooperation plans in the field of research and academics. Research focuses on the development of herbal medicine, community medicine, nutrition, and rural health,” explained the Dean of FK IPB University, Dr Ivan. 

This visit was carried out with several strategic objectives, including to develop joint research programs that focus on public health and community-based interventions. This collaboration is expected to open opportunities for students and lecturers in enriching academic experience and global insight.

In addition, this activity aims to strengthen cross-disciplinary approaches in creating innovations in the health sector and can expand institutional networks to support the achievement of sustainable development goals in the health sector.
