BNN Canteen Mom’s Story, Willing to Take a Break from Selling to Accompany Children UTBK-SNBT: If I Pass, I am Ready to Quit My Job to Accompany My Child to College

Behind the enthusiasm of the 2025 Computer-Based Writing Test-National Selection Based Test (UTBK-SNBT) participants at IPB University, there is also an important role of parents who faithfully accompany their children during the exam process.
One of them was Ade, the mother of Siti Salma Sakinah, a UTBK-SNBT participant from Cigombong, Bogor. In order to fully support her daughter’s desire to continue her education to a state university, Ade was willing to leave her daily activities, taking a break from selling at the canteen in the neighborhood of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) RI office.
She and Siti left home early in the morning to avoid traffic jams and arrived at the exam location before the dawn call to prayer.
“For the sake of supporting my child’s wishes, it’s okay if I’m willing to deliver and not work,” said Ade.
She added that Salma had prepared herself by studying hard and had chosen the Accounting study program at one of the state universities in Bandung as her college destination.
Ade also expressed his readiness to continue accompanying his daughter until she graduated from college. “If she is accepted, I am ready to quit my job and come to Bandung to accompany her. My daughter has a history of vertigo, so I want to always be there for her,” she said.
This is the second time Salma has participated in UTBK-SNBT, so they are familiar with the exam location at IPB University. The presence of parents like Ade is clear evidence of moral and emotional support that means a lot to the participants in facing this important test. (IAAS/FMT)
