KKNT Innovation Students Meet IPB University Experts with Farmers and Breeders in Terbanggi Besar
IPB University students from the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture team from Terbanggi Besar Village and Karang Endah Village held a program entitled ‘Sarasehan: Integrated Agriculture, Livestock, and Animal Health’. This activity aims to facilitate direct problem consultation between farmers, breeders, and IPB University experts.
The event took place at the Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) building, Karang Endah Village, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung. The workshop was attended by people from various farmer and breeder communities around Terbanggi Besar Sub-district. IPB University experts who attended included Prof Agik Suprayogi, Dr Ronald Tarigan, Dr Anisa Rahma, Dr R Harry Soehartono, and Bonjok Istiaji, MSi.
IPB University experts provided advice on solutions to various problems in agriculture, livestock, and animal health. The public enthusiastically asked questions and shared their practical experiences in dealing with daily challenges in the field.
Chief of the Terbanggi Besar Agricultural Extension Center, Rendy Franata, said that this workshop was expected to be the forerunner of downstream development. This is because, he said, for generations, agricultural product processing programs have only been limited to the upstream.
“Currently, only Women Farmers Group (KWT) have downstream products, namely local food products. This KKNT Innovation IPB University student can be a motor in downstreaming,” he said.
Prof Agik Suprayogi, IPB University lecturer from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB), highly appreciated this activity. “This workshop builds a situation of intimacy between IPB University experts and the community, namely farmers and breeders,” he said.
He hopes that this workshop can advance farmers and breeders in Terbanggi Besar District. “In the future, hopefully other similar programs will continue to be implemented by KKNT Innovation IPB University students,” concluded Prof Agik. (*/Lp/Rz) (IAAS/PRO)
