IPB University Innovation KKNT Students Hold Woman for Nature Activities in Campakamulya Village
IPB University’s Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) students held a Woman for Nature activity at the Campakamulya Village Office Hall, Cimaung District, Bandung Regency, West Java.
This activity aims to introduce to the community about how to manage waste properly and examples of applying waste into goods that have value. In addition, this activity also introduced the IPB Digitani application.
According to Ripandi Ismail, the project leader of the program, this activity was designed to increase community literacy, especially women in Campakamulya Village regarding proper waste management.
“By introducing good waste management to housewives, it will have a big domino effect in the community,” he said.
He explained that the Women for Nature program provides an understanding of organic and inorganic waste management. The activity began with Chemistry in everyday life material which explained about chemicals in everyday life.
“Waste contains various kinds of chemicals. Therefore, it is important to understand the chemicals around us,” said Jum’an as one of the presenters.
Regarding the management of organic and inorganic waste, the students explained various management alternatives. Participants were given video tutorials made by KKNT Innovation students in the form of making liquid organic fertilizer (POC) and potted fruit plants (tabulampot).
“POC and tabulampot will later be distributed to local residents in the form of finished products and materials. With the distribution of products and kits, it is hoped that the community will be more motivated and can start even from simple things,” said Ripandi.
The activity continued with the socialization of the introduction of the IPB Digitani application which began with a discussion session on waste management and problems around agriculture. The participants were assisted by students on how to create an account, use the application and introduce the various features available on the IPB Digitani application.
“By organizing the Woman for Nature activity, it is hoped that an understanding of waste management can be well understood by participants who are family welfare empowerment groups (PKK), which will later be disseminated to their families,” he explained.
Haris, the Chief of Campakamulya Village who attended the socialization, appreciated the Woman for Nature activity. “This socialization helps increase my enthusiasm again in empowering existing waste. I hope this program can increase the enthusiasm of residents in managing waste,” he said. (IAAS/HRD)
