IPB University Innovation KKNT Students Help Develop Children’s Character in Pasir Tanjung Village
IPB University Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T) students have implemented a character development program for school-age children, especially grade 2 students at SDN Tanjungsari 01 and SDN Mulyasari, Pasir Tanjung Village, Tanjungsari District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
Previously, Rava Raisha Putra and seven fellow KKN-T Innovation IPB University students received information from the Head of Pasir Tanjung Village, Abdul Haris Maswan, regarding child development issues, including related to clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS).
Apart from that, the Vice Principal of SDN Tanjungsari 01, Eman Sulaeman, also expressed concerns about the negative impact of technology, such as gadget addiction in minors.
To solve this problem, KKN-T Innovation IPB University students held the ‘Karaktive: Character Development of School Age Children using the Cooperative Based Learning Method’ program. This program was formed to support the ‘Quality Village Education’ program.
“We hope that this activity will provide benefits and valuable knowledge, so that children can apply the character they have built in their daily lives and contribute positively to the surrounding environment,” said Rava.
Rava continued, the program uses a cooperative based learning method, which allows children to study in groups to facilitate discussion and exchange of ideas. Each pillar is taught with cooperative games that encourage cooperation and shared responsibility.
“The existence of a character education program initiated by IPB University students is very helpful in developing the character of our students by providing motivation and learning experiences. Even though the time was short, it was very meaningful and left an impression on their memories, until this morning someone asked when the brothers would come here again,” said Tati Nurhayati, Headmaster of SDN Mulyasari.
