IPB University students who joined the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) Innovation in Situgede Village, Bogor City, West Java collaborated with Abdi Tani Farm from Situgede Village to hold a ‘Green Harmony’ program. The highlight of the activity was the socialization of IPB Digitani and the distribution of plant seeds in the garden shed of Abdi Tani Farm, Situgede Village.

The Green Harmony activity with the theme ‘Green Day’ was attended by Napihudin as the Situgede Urban Village Chief and Supriyadi, Chief of Abdi Tani Farm. The Green Day program is an activity to clean and organize the land owned by Abdi Tani Farm as a KKNT Innovation IPB University partner in the Situgede area.

“This activity includes cleaning the land, transferring plants to polybags, arranging plants, and installing paranet. Green Day aims to create a clean, healthy, and productive environment for the surrounding community,” said Reza, leader of the KKNT Innovation IPB University team in Situgede Village.

The Green Harmony program was also held at SDN Situgede 4 with the theme ‘The Story of the Biji’. This activity was attended by 6th grade students of SDN Situgede. Kisah si Biji is a sub-program that aims to provide plant care education to elementary school students.

“The activity began with socialization about the benefits of plants for humans, the needs of plants, the benefits of planting plants, how to care for plants, and the life process of chili plants. We then continued with a demonstration of transferring chili shoots from small polybags to large polybags. The program ended with the distribution of seedlings to grade 6 students of SDN Situgede 4,” Reza explained.

Reza explained that the peak of the Green Harmony program was held in the garden shed of Abdi Tani Farm, Situgede Village. This activity was themed Dream Home Garden Workshop and was attended by participants from Abdi Tani Farm, farm women’s groups (KWT), and the surrounding community.

The Dreamhouse Garden Workshop is an educational activity on how to plant and care for plants for daily food needs. In addition, this workshop also introduces the IPB Digitani application so that people can consult with experts.

“If you have your own plants in your yard, you don’t need to buy them, because we don’t need to adjust the market price, in order to achieve food independence,” said Reza. (*/Lp/Rz) (IAAS/FAE)
