The Student Association of Fisheries Resource Utilization (Himafarin) IPB University through the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) held a National Children’s Day celebration on the coast of Sangrawayang Village with the theme ‘Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia’.

At this event, the Himafarin PPK Ormawa team and children carried out various activities, including gymnastics together, making handicraft creations, and coastal clean-up.

“This activity aims to empower children with creative skills and instill awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. The event began with a handicraft workshop, where children were taught to make various creative products using recycled materials,” said Zahra Aulia, leader of the PPK Ormawa Himafarin team.

Zahra said, through this session, the children not only learned new skills but also gained an understanding of the benefits of reusing existing materials. IPB University students also provided knowledge about the decay time of various types of waste.

“After the handicraft session, the participants together conducted coastal clean-up at Sangrawayang beach. In this activity, the children were equipped with gloves and garbage bags. This activity gave them the opportunity to contribute directly to the clean-up of the beach.” said Zahra

Celebrating National Children’s Day in this way is our effort to inspire and educate children about the importance of creativity and environmental awareness. We hope that this activity will not only provide a fun experience for the children, but also instill positive values that they will carry into adulthood,” said Zahra.

The event also received support from the local community and related parties who participated in the coastal clean-up. By involving children in this beneficial activity, it is hoped that they can build a sense of responsibility for the environment from an early age. . (*/ra/Rz) (IAAS/HRD)
