The Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation held a Sharing Session “How to Publish in High-Impact Top Journal,” in a hybrid manner, 23/8. This activity invited Prof Ramayah Thurasamy from the School of Management, Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Prof Anuraga Jayanegara, Director of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation of IPB University, revealed that this activity was held in order to improve the quality and quantity of IPB University publications. “IPB University wants to increase contributions in high-impact journals,” he said.

According to him, IPB University articles and journals indexed by Scopus in Q1 were at 18 percent. “Therefore, we still have to work harder. In comparison, the percentage of journals and articles indexed by Scopus Q1 of Bandung Institute of Technology is at 33 percent,” he said.

He said he was happy with the event. “We are very happy to hold this event and hopefully this activity will provide benefits and input to the audience to be able to issue publications in high-impact journals,” said Prof Anuraga, IPB University lecturer from the Faculty of Animal Science.

On this occasion, Prof Ramayah said that publishing journals and articles requires a process, like passing through many doors with a long process. He also talked about the importance of reviewing other people’s journals.

“When we read articles written by ourselves, everything looks good and beautiful. But when we read other people’s articles, we can identify the mistakes in detail,” he said.

With the sharing session, it is hoped that there can be an increase in the capacity of IPB University academics in conducting research and publications. Thus, it can have an impact on increasing the quantity and quality of IPB University publications. (AEA/ra) (IAAS/ARD)
