Postgraduate School IPB University Selected 2,109 New Students
IPB University’s Postgraduate School (SPs) held a Plenary Meeting for the Selection of New Students for the Odd Semester of 2023/2024 at Computer Room Hall A, Library B Building, Dramaga Campus (25/7). The plenary meeting was conducted to select 2,109 new students for SPs IPB University, attended by deans and vice deans of faculties and schools within IPB University.
The event was opened by Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, Dean of SPs IPB University. In his speech, he expressed that this plenary session aims to attract the best candidates for the study programs (prodi) at SPs IPB University.
“We have seen an increased interest from prospective students applying to SPs IPB University this year compared to previous years. Through this selection, we hope to accommodate the preferences of the new students while maintaining the quality,” he said.
Prof Dodik added that the teaching and learning process would be provided flexibly according to the conditions of the field of study, individual students, locations, and others. However, it will be upheld with strict learning outcomes (LO).
“With this flexibility, we expect to find the best candidates who will continue their studies at SPs IPB University, either through the research-based educational path, recognition of prior learning (RPL), and other pathways,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Prof Agus Buono, Vice Dean of SPs IPB University for Academic and Student Affairs, mentioned that to increase the number of prospective students, SPs IPB University has actively promoted its study programs through podcasts. Promotions have also been carried out actively to scholarship-granting institutions.
“The number of new students accepted in stages 1 and 2 this year has increased. There are 854 prospective students in stage 1 and 1,255 in stage 2, making a total of 2,109 prospective students this year,” he concluded.
Previously, SPs IPB University conducted the registration process for new students (stages 1 and 2) for the odd semester of 2023/2024, starting from February 20th, 2023, for both master’s and doctoral programs, which were carried out online. Registrations were open for regular classes, collaboration, special arrangement, research-based education, master’s towards doctoral for outstanding graduates (PMDSU), and synergy (fast track) pathways.
