Establishing Multinational Strategic Policy Collaboration, DKSRA of IPB University Visits Research Management Centre and ITAFoS UPM
The Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation (DKSRA) of IPB University had the wonderful opportunity to visit Universiti Putra Malaysia, more specifically the Research Management Centre (RMC) and the Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS). The visit was organized with the main focus being to learn about UPM’s programs and strategies in connection with its research fund management, research administration, as well as institutional scientific publications.
“From the results of this visit, it is planned to establish a collaboration that is related to policy recommendation studies for the government. This matter is also very closely related to one of the roles of DKSRA at IPB University, which is to formulate policy recommendations based on the results given by strategic studies. It is hoped that the planned collaboration can be put into action and kept sustainable,” the director of KSRA IPB University, Prof Anuraga Jayanegara, expressed his ambitions.
During the event, the representatives from DKSRA IPB University were welcomed by Prof Ts Goh Yong Meng as the Deputy Director of the Research Grant Division and Prof Madya Dr Fasirulhisyam Hashim as the Deputy Director of the Research Planning and Knowledge Management Division. In this opportunity, Prof Goh delivered a presentation regarding research grant schemes for the lecturers and students. Additionally, he also presented other programs that support the research process, ultimately leading to the publication of scientific publications.
As for the purpose of DKSRA IPB University’s visit to ITAFoS, it was conducted with the aim to learn about the process of managing policy recommendations to the Malaysian government. They were met and welcomed by the host, Prof Abdul Rahim Abdul Samad, the Chairman of the Laboratory of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies.
