In order to introduce IPB University, especially the Department of Fisheries Resource Utilisation (PSP), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science of IPB (FPIK), the Student Association of Fisheries Resource Utilisation (Himafarin) organised a Competition of Marching Rules (LPBB) for students from various schools.

The competition was held at IPB Gymnasium, Dramaga Campus. LPBB became one of the events in the series of Nautica Fest activities, Himafarin’s annual big programme. The initiator and person in charge of LPBB in the Nautica Fest series is Hizkya Suranta Perangin Angin, an alumnus of IPB University who is also the trainer of the Flag Raising Troops (Paskibra).

“Thanks to the chief executive and the entire committee of LPBB and Nautica Fest 2023, the judges, as well as the support from the Department of PSP and FPIK IPB University. Hopefully this activity can continue with a larger number of participants so that the impact will be even wider,” said Julia Eka Astarini, SPi, MSi, Student Affairs Commission of the PSP Department of FPIK IPB University who attended the activity.

The impact of the event was evident from the approximately 1,200 participants (78 teams) consisting of 28 junior high school teams, 32 high school teams and 18 senior high school teams, of which 48 teams came from Bogor and 30 teams came from outside Bogor city. The competition judges came from the TNI and experienced professionals.

“The enthusiasm of the participants and spectators of this competition is a promotional event for IPB University, FPIK and the PSP Department. Thus, the purpose of this activity is to introduce IPB University to the community, especially students, hopefully it can be realised,” Julia added.

In addition, according to her, this event is also a means of providing motivation to the younger generation to study at IPB University. This activity also adds to the relationship between students so that they can fill their youth with positive activities.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Student Affairs of FPIK IPB University M Tri Hartanto, SPi, MSi who was also present appreciated this activity because it could make young people actively move, practice discipline and compact. Not to forget, the Dean of FPIK IPB University, Prof Fredinan Yulianda, the Head of the PSP Department, Prof Eko Sri Wiyono, and the Vice Head of Nautica Fest 2023, Bintang Yunta Wicaksana gave a direct opening at this event.

As a result, this competition was won by SMPN 1 Ciomas team B (1st place), SMPN 13 Bogor City 2nd place), SMPN 2 Kemang team A (3rd place) for junior high school level. For high school level, it was won by MAN 1 Sukabumi team B (1st place), SMKN 1 Ciomas (2nd place), SMAN 1 Leuwiliang (3rd place).

Meanwhile, at the former level, PST Management (1st place), Beubeledagan FC (2nd place), and Purna Paschada (3rd place) won. Each winning team received a trophy, cash prize, and e-certificate. The overall winners for each level were SMPN 1 Ciomas team B for junior high school level, MAN 1 Sukabumi team B for high school level and PST Management for Purna level.
