LKST IPB University Presents Innovators and Startup CEOs to Discuss Prime Step Programme Targets

Institute of Science and Technology Park (LKST) IPB University presented innovators and chief executive officers (CEOs) of startups that received funding from Foreign Loans and/or Grants (PHLN) in the Workshop on Research and Development Improvement Programme: Preparation of Output Target, Action Plan and Budget Plan (RAB), (6/6).

The workshop was part of the Promoting Research and Innovation through Modern and Efficient Science and Technopark (Prime Step) programme. The activity was held at the IPB International Convention Centre (IICC), Bogor.

Head of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi said that she and the team will not stop to always carry out downstreaming, commercialisation and create strong startups to bring IPB University innovations to the community. “Prospective invention results must already be towards innovation,” she emphasised.

Through this event, she said, LKST IPB University wanted to make sure everything went according to target. “IPB University is one of those who has the trust to get a PHLN loan. IPB University is considered capable of carrying out its duties and obligations on time, so there will be a lot of trust from the state to LKST IPB University,” she said.

Prof Erika mentioned, forms of trust include this year there are 40 Kedaireka programmes funded. “Hopefully this number will reach 56 innovations,” she said.

Furthermore, she also said that this year IPB University will build a halal business incubator building. “And later there will be academic and scientific support for IPB University innovation products which are also halal products,” he added.

To the startup CEOs, Prof Erika urged them to prepare for an international expo that will collaborate with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).

Meanwhile earlier in the report Dr Tri Prartono, Vice Head of LKST IPB University in the field of Innovation and Technology Transfer said, this year LKST IPB University had selected and funded 11 prospective inventions, 4 international collaboration research, 5 industrial cooperation research and 14 startup incubations.

“Hopefully in five years there will be 45 intellectual property (IP) used by the industry and there will be one series b funding startup and one series c funding startup. In this workshop, it is hoped that innovators and startups can complete the provisions in accordance with the rules. Many technical matters require schedule adjustments,” he explained.

Dr Tri admitted that producing innovative technology is not easy so it requires multi-year funding. He hopes that the targets that have been set can run smoothly.
