UTBK-SNBT 2023 Performed at IPB University

IPB University was appointed as one of the test administration centres for the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) in 2023. The UTBK implementation at IPB University this year will last for 12 days. The exam will be held in two locations, Dramaga Campus, Bogor Regency and Cilibende Campus, Bogor City.
"The capacity of examinees at the Dramaga Campus of IPB is 540 participants per session, or 1,080 participants per day. Meanwhile, the capacity of the IPB Cilibende Campus is 300 participants per session or 600 participants per day," said Prof. drh Deni, IPB University's Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs.
He noted, the implementation of the UTBK was divided into two batches. The first batch was held on May 8-14, 2023 with 11,740 participants and the second batch was held on May 22-26, 2023 with 6,427 participants.
As is well-known, the selection of new student admissions this year is different from last year. This year, there has been a change in the selection mechanism for new student admissions nationally, namely the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) and the National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT).
Regarding the SNBT, the exam is carried out using a computer called the UTBK, which is managed centrally under the Education Testing Management Center (BPPP), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).
Prof Deni explained, for the smooth running of the exam, IPB University had made various preparations. Some of the efforts made include taking part in national trials related to systems and networks for exams, as well as holding UTBK execution workshops for the officers involved.
"IPB University has followed the provisions of the National Selection Committee for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) related to the execution of the UTBK-SNBT at the IPB UTBK Center," said Prof Deni.
Furthermore, he continued, IPB University is coordinating with the State Electricity Company (PLN) and the local police regarding electricity and traffic security around the UTBK test location. Regarding test security, a metal detector is also prepared.
"The committee has also posted directions to the location, provided generators at test locations and arranged parking lots," he added.
Prof Deni also added, his party had also created an information channel related to the implementation of UTBK at the UTBK-IPB Center, namely utbk.ipb.ac.id and a hotline at halo.admisi.ipb.ac.id as well as publication of UTBK activities through social media on various Instagram accounts including @ipbofficial, @ayodindingipb, @dutaipb and @dappmb.
"Hopefully the test administration execution of UTBK at IPB University centre will run smoothly, no cheating will occur. We hope participants feel comfortable with our service and can be accepted at their choice of destination university," he said. (Ns/Rz) (IAAS/SNI)
