Mentee Mentoring Leader Batch 5 IPB University newly held Menlead Talks in the professional field. This activity was carried out online and was presented speakers from IPB University alumni who had successful careers in the professional world. The speakers who filled this talk show were the Main Director of PT Inhutani II, Dr Tjipta Purwita, MBA, IPU and Executive Director of IYOIN Local Chapter Bogor, Lukman Hakim, SPi, MSi.

Carrying the theme 'How To Design Our Most Sustainable Career Path', Dr Tjipta Purwita presented material related to superior and quality professional human resources (HR). In his presentation, he explained that professional HR must have a character which is a combination of the need for power (n-pow) and the need for affiliation (n-aff).

N-pow is the need to control or influence others, while n-aff means the need to be accepted by others. “Don't only we can influence people, but we can't be a part of other people. Well, it has to be balanced. Apart from that, expertise, reasoning and mature personality are also needed,” he said.

The alumnus of Agricultural Economics from IPB University mentioned above cited three core competencies that are needed by each individual to create professional human resources in the digital era. The first is learning agility or willingness and high learning ability.

“A professional is a learner, we cannot stay silent. We must study and learn. Until when? Until we enter the grave and it is the hadith of the prophet. Learning starts from childhood until finally we enter the grave, "he explained.

The core competencies that every next individual must have are technological literacy (digital savvy) and adaptability. Dr Tjipta also stated that change is a necessity. "As an individual, don't become an object of change, but must be a subject of change and must be able to adapt," he said.

Meanwhile, Lukman Hakim, SPi, MSi discussed career planning. He emphasized that in preparing career planning each individual must have measurable dreams (targets) and be aware of their own potential. “A dream is something that has not been measured yet, so it is still wishful thinking. But to achieve that dream, we need to enumerate small paths, that's the mission,” said Best Mentee Mentoring Leader Batch 2.

Apart from that, he said, it is also necessary to identify your own passion so that you can explore your career in a fun way according to your own interests. "Do a self-evaluation of your current abilities so you can maintain the pace of development to remain progressive, and do research regarding opportunities that allow you to develop yourself," he explained.
