Indonesian Professor Association Holds First Meeting at IPB University
The Management of the Indonesian Professor Association (API) 2019-2024 term held a first meeting in the Mahogany Room of the Campus School of Business School of IPB University, Bogor (20/1). This activity, which was held thanks to the collaboration between the Council of Professors (DGB) of IPB University and API, discussed programs or action activities for 2020 and discussed opportunities for mutual collaboration with various government and non-government institutions. The association which was established in 2007 is an independent professional organization supported by qualified professors in their respective fields. The professors who are incorporated come from various universities in Indonesia from Aceh to Papua. "The API work meeting is expected to produce a work program and commitment from the API management that will be carried out over the next five years. We hope that API can focus on building this nation so that it can become a developed country faster, especially in the field of natural resources, "said Prof. Muh Yusram Massijaya, Chair of API 2019-2024 who is also a Permanent Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, IPB University.
API General Secretary, Prof. Dr. Ari Purbayanto said, "This professor has forged his knowledge. His knowledge is no joke, and he applies his knowledge there is proof, "he said. API hopes, said Prof. Ari, that professors can make many positive contributions to the country. According to him, in the API there are several clusters that can enlighten the public to find solutions. If it is needed, the professor can go straight down. Prof. Ari also hopes to be given space to give his ideas. "We professors fight for the progress of the nation and state. During this time, Malaysia even learned from Indonesian professors, starting from university autonomy. When government finance is difficult, they learn from us. But unfortunately, in Indonesia, many are given the space to offer solutions to politicians, not professors, "Ari said. (IAAS/NAS)
