PT Sahabat Nelayan Indonesia brings its superior product, eFAD (Portable FAD) at the India ASEAN Innotech Summit at the SMX Convention Center, in Davao City, Philippines, (20-22 / 11).  Portable FAD is an innovation product for IPB University from the Department of Fisheries Utilization and Resources, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK).  eFAD (Portable FAD) is a fishing aid to lure fish to gather using the sound frequency.

 

“On this occasion, PT Sahabat Nelayan Indonesia had the opportunity to meet with business people, government and academics from various ASEAN member countries and India.  One of them was Mr. Subrat Tripatrhy, CEO of Dhamra Port, Adani Ports, who was one of the speakers at the Innotech Summit.  According to him, eFAD (Portable FAD) is a technology in the field of fisheries that is interesting and good to implement, “said Dr. Roza Yusfiandayani, one of the IPB University research teams who created Portable FAD.

 

The event, which was held by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the National Innovation Foundation, carries the theme “Technology as a Catalyst for Regional Partnership”.  The aim is to build and enhance regional capacity, explore and collaborate fields of science, technology, and innovation.

 

“The event which was held for three days contained seminars, exhibitions and business meetings between business people and government in the field of technology and innovation.  Each country shows the best technological innovation and the potential to be implemented in the ASEAN region.  So that this event becomes an event in building networks to explore more opportunities that exist and connect between business people, government, investors and other stakeholders, “he added.

 

The exhibition was attended by startups under the guidance of India, ASEAN member countries, and participants of the Grassroot Innovation Competition, which was one of the events held in conjunction with the India ASEAN Innotech Summit.  There are 90 booths, where three of them are followed by TBIC-Puspiptek-assisted startups.  Namely PT Telaga Water Filter, PT Master Solusi Indonesia, and PT Sahabat Nelayan Indonesia.  (** / Zul)
