Lampung People Learn to Use IPB University’s Oodev
The Lampung Bawang Udik Fisheries Service Office conducted a socialization program to the public and SMKN 1 Tulang Bawang Udik students regarding catfish aquaculture by using an innovation from IPB University, Oodev. Hormone Oodev is an innovation from Dr. Agus Oman Sudrajat, lecturer from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK). The arrival of the IPB University Team was welcomed by the Head of the Fishery Onion Cultivation Division, Setyono Jati Utomo at the Fish Seed Hall (BBI) of Marga Kencana Village, Tulang Bawang Udik Subdistrict, Lampung Province, (11/25). This activity was attended by 32 participants, 13 representatives of the fisheries service, and 4 fisheries instructors.
Dr Agus Oman Sudrajat explained, Oodev is one of the products that makes fish breed quickly without waiting for their mating period. “Although given Oodev, fish still go through a mating process. But with Oodev, fish will get pregnant faster without waiting for mating. In addition, several types of fish that can use Oodev are catfish, goldfish, catfish, tilapia, cork, females, eels and shrimp,” he said.
On this occasion, Setyono Jati Utomo said that this socialization can add insight to the community (cultivators) of the high potential of fisheries in the village of Marga Kencana Tulang Bawang Udik District.
“In addition, fish farmers can form a cultivation group that is carried out jointly with different division divisions. So that aquaculture activities can provide greater profits than ever before in every business actor and have a broad target market,” he added.
It is hoped that after this socialization the community’s motivation will begin to build with the Ooodev innovation that has been given. So that this innovation can be directly applied to aquaculture activities to increase productivity without worrying about changing seasons.
After the socialization, the practice of applying Oodev to fish feed was carried out guided by Dr. Agus Oman Sudrajat as the discovery of the Oodev hormone. (NR)
