Himasper FPIK IPB University Opened up Enjoyness of Managing and Keeping Aquatic Environment
Aquatic Resource Management Student Club (MSP), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (Himasper FPIK), IPB University become interest developing, talent, and student potential in aquatic resource management. Many interesting activities done by this organization.
“Really fun! Since we moved to keep the environment, we often go to field. Also, we often visit ministry, private companies, non government organization (NGO) environmentally concerned to have a collaboration with our program.” said Rafialwan as The Chairman of Himasper FPIK IPB University 2018/2019.
Generally, programs done by Himasper FPIK IPB University 2018/2019 were three, Water Festival 2019. Fieldtic (Fieldtrip Aquatic), and Career Development Training (CDT). The three programs consisted of interesting activities about exploring and managing aquatic resource.
Water Festival 2019 consisted of Green Belt Conservation (GBC) and Water Festival Seminary 2019. GBC held at Patra Manggala Village Beach, Banten Regency with the main activity planting 7500 mangroves and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the community about right management of mangrove at Patra Manggala Village Beach. Output of this program was the recommendation of mangrove management given to the community.
Water Festival Seminary 2019 held by theme Aquatic Life Conservation for Indonesia 4.0 by inviting millennial generation to realize the role on keeping aquatic environment in 4.0 era. Meanwhile Fieldtic (Fieldtrip Aquatic) consisted of FGD and Ciliwung Care Day (CCD). This FGD done with many student organization that realize about the importance of keeping the environment to join CCD. CCD program was the service by Himasper FPIK IPB to community to make loud of keeping and taking care of aquatic environment of Ciliwung Kedung Badak River, Bogor.
“We did socialization and sharing knowledge with community of Ciliwung River, Kdung Badak. Planting the rare trees and cleaning action Ciliwung River also we did. Beside that, we also applied what we get in college by checking water quality of Ciliwung River,” said Rafialwan.
CDT program consisted of four activities there were essay ad opinion writing workshop, ArcGIS application system implementation, training in handling stranded mammals also training in water sampling. This trainings were useful to increase aquatic resource management students’ softskill and hardskill. The implementation in community very needed in managing the existing aquatic resource. “MSP student had gotten many aquatic resource management in college. But, MSP students’ skill in managing aquatic resource needed to be more sharpened by these kind of trainings,” said one of the MSP FPIK IPB student, Annisa Dinulislam. (NR)
