IT Today IPB University Reveals Form of Human Interaction in the Future
Now we are able to enjoy the benefits of advancing information technology and without being denied Information and Technology (IT) is always developing. This was conveyed by the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB University, Prof. Agus Buono when opening IT Today in the Auditorium Common Class Room (CCR), Dramaga Campus, Bogor (8/9). The event held by the Computer Science Student Association (Himalkom) carries the theme “Revolutionize The World with Future Technology” which illustrates the progress of a country also requires the role of its people, especially in the field of information technology.
IT Today consists of several events such as competitions, workshops, and seminars. The branches of competition at IT Today are AppsToday, HackToday, and Data Science Competition.
AppsToday is a place for participants to become a new generation of creative and innovative developers to advance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the field of Information Technology and Computing (ICT). HackToday or better known as Capture the Flag is a competition in the field of information technology security that requires participants to look for network security gaps so that participants are able to penetrate the targets provided by the committee. Data Science Competition is a national level competition in the field of data analysis that will produce a pattern or prediction from a data.
“The enthusiasm of the participants is expected to change the perception of the public who are afraid of technological progress, such as Artificial Intelligence technology and others,” said Irfan, as Chair of IT Today 2019.
IT Today also presented five speakers from national startups and IT companies. Namely Nanda Putra as founder of Tanijoy, Nayoko Wicaksono as CEO of Algorithms, On Lee as CEO of GDP Venture, Fahri Amirullah as VP of Growth from Kitabisa.com and Senja Lazuardy as CTO WIR group, a company engaged in Augmented Reality (AR).
“Humans and computers are basically composed of fundamentally different materials, humans with a bit of chemical reaction in their bodies, while machines (AI) are composed of programmed electrical reactions. AI does not replace humans, instead it does something that helps human work to be more efficient,” explained On Lee.
In addition, the development of IT currently affects various aspects, including a phenomenon that was never imagined by humans five years ago. Discussion regarding future technology for human interaction was delivered by Fahri Amirullah. According to Fahri, through technological advancements can improve mutual cooperation, such as raising funds through a fundraising platform that is able to help others without distance restrictions.
“This is a form of human interaction in the future,” said Fahri who is an alumni of the Department of Computer Science, IPB University. (RYS)
