The Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) of IPB University in collaboration with the 2019 International Livestock and Dairy Expo (ILDEX) Indonesia and supported by PT. Permata Kreasi Media (PKM) held the ‘Kinarya Satwasentosa’ Conferment to the People Schools of Animal Husbandry (SPR-1111) 2019 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition Hall 3-3A – BSD City, South Tangerang on Wednesday (18/09). The award was given to the four best SPRs fostered by LPPM of IPB University, namely SPR Kuamang Abadi (Bungo Regency, Jambi), SPR Ngudi Rejeki (Kediri Regency, East Java), SPR Cinagarabogo (Subang Regency, West Java), and SPR Wanaraya (Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan).

Kinarya Satwasentosa Award is a form of appreciation to SPR which is capable and qualified in maintaining and providing livestock for human welfare. The awarding of Kinarya Satwasentosa is an appreciation for SPR which has completed a maximum of four years of education and is ready to become a business entity that is self-reliant and eager to advance the country’s livestock sector.

“The main assessment for the ‘Kinarya Satwasentosa’ award is the sovereign breeders to undertake a collective effort. There are six evaluation criteria, namely being able to be independent, being smart and innovative, willing to do joint efforts with the middle-class society, being stronger in the synergy between institutions, having a high enthusiasm in strengthening institutions, and have started a collective business. If put together, these six evaluation criteria form the word DAULAT,” said Prof. Muladno as Chairperson of the SPR of IPB University LPPM.

The Head of IPB University LPPM, Dr. Aji Hermawan, in his speech, said that LPPM of IPB University has fostered 34 SPRs located in 20 Regencies in 10 Provinces. Until 2019, there are six SPRs developed by LPPM of IPB University that have graduated.

“There are four SPRs which have graduated and 24 SPRs which have not graduated. Six SPRs that graduated in 2017 were SPR Tunas Barokah in Bojonegoro Regency, SPR Maju Bersama in Bojonegoro Regency, SPR Mega Jaya in Bojonegoro Regency, SPR Mesuji Raya in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, SPR Maju Bersama in Musi Banyuasin Regency, and SPR Banyuasin in Banyuasin Regency,” he explained.

He added, the awarding process to the graduated SPRs was done by draping the ‘Kinarya Satwasentosa’ medal and delivering the certificate, transcript, and appreciation plaque to the SPR Chairperson and Manager. The event was then continued with the Seminar of Alumni Solidarity of the Indonesian People Schools of Animal Husbandry (SASPRI) which was carried out with the presentation of the SASPRI Introductory Video, the inauguration of the SASPRI management, and the signing of the SASPRI Guardian Integrity Pact.

“Through the SPR program, it is hoped that animal husbandry in Indonesia will develop faster with the concept of cooperation as well as sharing roles and responsibilities between local governments, universities, the private sectors, and farmers,” he added. (WD/Zul/zsp)
