Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association Holds Vet Vaganza
Reminiscing campus life is a phase that often times experienced by the alumni of one education institution. It applies to IPB University alumni, especially the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH). Because of that, the Alumni Association of FKH IPB University held a cross-batch reunion named Vet Vaganza. Vet Vaganza 2019, which was held in Baranangsiang Campus Field (18/8), was the third reunion, following the success of the previous reunion in 2012 and 2016.
Not only connecting various generations of FKH IPB University alumni, this event also brought alumni together with students of FKH IPB University. Besides that, there was also a fundraising event to help FKH IPB students who were less capable economically.
“Fundraising is regularly carried out by raising funds per batch of FKH IPB University. Not only with fundraising from the generation, one of the legendary bands at IPB University, Klinik Nada, also gave a portion of the revenue of their Compact Disc (CD) sales to FKH IPB University student scholarship, “said Head of Commitee, Drh Dodi Suparno.
In his welcoming remark, IPB University Rector, Dr. Arif Satria said that alumni’s role is very important to the success of a university. As we all know, IPB University was just noted as the third best university in Indonesia. This achievement would not happen without the contribution of the alumni to build network outside campus and become a support system for students inside campus.
The Chairman of IPB University Alumni Association, Fathan Kamil, hoped that alumni are motivated to contribute to the campus and promote IPB University.
Vet Vaganza was attended by so many alumni from various batches. It successfully raised 120 million rupiah. Also present was the alumni of FKH before IPB University was separated from the University of Indonesia, so in total there were 55 batches that participated in the event.
In addition to having nostalgic moments between classmates, Vet Vaganza also invited alumni to meet their teachers again through a series of Tribute to Elderly Vet event. This session was filled with giving gifts to senior teachers as a form of respect for contributions to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, IPB University.
