IPB University’s Animal Husbandry School Is Now in Subang
The School of Animal Husbandry (SPR) of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB University is now in Subang Regency, West Java. Declaration on the establishment of the Cinagarabogo SPR was held at SMK Negeri 2 Cipunagara, Subang Regency (8/13). The Cinagarabogo SPR Declaration aims to reinforce the commitment and pledge of farmers to become independent and sovereign breeders.
Deputy Head of Community Service for LPPM IPB University, Prof. Sugeng Heri Suseno said that SPR is an innovation of IPB University to increase livestock productivity in Indonesia. For the Cinagarabogo SPR, the cattle to be developed are beef cattle.
"SPR is an innovation of IPB University that has been implemented directly by the community in several regions. In developing this SPR activity, the roles and support and collaboration of all elements between local government, universities, the community, private partners and mass media are needed. "Not only will SPR Cinagarabogo go forward, but other SPR programs can also be developed in Subang Regency," he said.
According to him in addition to SPR, IPB University through LPPM also has a strategic program in the field of community service such as students serving, lecturers serving and professors serving.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Subang Regency, Agus Masykur Rosyadi expressed his gratitude to IPB University and Indonesian University of Education (UPI) for collaborating in the development of SPR with beef cattle commodity.
"It is hoped that with the declaration of the Cinagarabogo SPR in Subang Regency, the welfare of farmers will increase and not only within the SPR scope but also other community service activities will also be developed," he said.
The signing of the SPR declaration text was carried out by the breeder witnessed by Agus Masykur Rosyadi, Prof. Sugeng Heri Suseno, Chair of the SPR Unit LPPM IPB University, Prof. Muladno, Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Service, Head of the Education and Culture Office, Principal of Cipunagara State Vocational School 2, Head of UPI LPPM, UPI students, breeders and the community in the cipunagara sub-district.
