IPB University Students Swept 4 Awards at ASEAN SLP 2019 in Malaysia
The 2019 ASEAN Service Learning Service Program (SLP) was officially carried out in Selangor, Malaysia on July 11th-24th, 2019. Organized by IPB University and Universiti Putra Malaysia, the Malaysian counterpart acted as this year’s host—where in the following years other ASEAN countries (such as Thailand and Brunei Darussalam) shall get involved as well. IPB Deputy Head of Research and Community Service Unit who specialized in the field of community service—Prof. Dr. Sugeng Heri Suseno stated the program’s aim to invite students to explore within society through community services. It is also used as a forum for sharing knowledge especially on agriculture 4.0 and cultures, while forging friendships between ASEAN countries. At the end, students presented their activity outputs in front of panel of judges, including Dr. Norsida Man—Director of the Program and Prof. Dr. Sugeng Heri Suseno. Based on final assessments, several awards were given to IPB University student delegations. First is “Best Group Presentation”, given to team with members namely Ms. Athaya N. Raniah (IPB Department of Science in Communication and Community Development), Ms. Andini D. A. Putri (IPB Vocational School of Environmental Engineering and Management), Ms. Nuri Ikhwana (IPB Department of Science Communication and Community Development), Mr. M. Saddam Isra (IPB Department of Resource Economics and Environment) and Mr. Pramana Ilmananda (IPB Department of Animal Product Technology). Meanwhile, “Best Group Performance” award was granted to Ms. Ananda A. Parahita (IPB Department of Chemistry), Ms. Fenny Muta'ali (IPB Department of Family and Consumer Science), Ms. Nanda N. Fasya (IPB Department of Agroindustrial Engineering), Ms. Zahra A. Shafira P.H. (IPB Department of Management) and Mr. Sheva Rezki Ramadhan (IPB Department of Mathematics). Last but definitely not least, the “Best Male Participant” was awarded to Mr. M. Rifqi Mahardika (IPB Department of Agribusiness), whilst Ms. Bias A. Pakarti (IPB Department of Food Science and Technology) was chosen as the “Best Female Participant”. All these summed up to 4 awards granted, which involved total 12 students of IPB University.
