Saturday, June 1 2019, IPB University (IPB) held Pancasila Day Ceremony. Located on ceremonial field of Rectorate Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, the ceremony was joined by lecturers, staffs, and students.

Vice Rector in Education and Student’s Affairs of IPB, Dr. Drajat Martianto, acting as the Inspector of Ceremony, read the mandates of Head of Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). “Pancasila as the national principle, ideology, and views found by our founding fathers is a priceless blessing by the God Almighty for Indonesia. Even if some part of the countries haven’t perfectly realized Pancasila values, we have to admit that Indonesia’s existence is well maintained as a nation as well as a country until new because Pancasila.”

Pancasila as a belief and fundamental principle has to be upholded. The internalization process and the manifestation of Pancasila values have to be cultivated  in pure hearts and practiced in day to day lives. Because of Pancasila with its inclusive values about tolerance and gotong royong (mutual cooperation), the diversity in Indonesia could be considered a blessing. Because of Pancasila as a guiding star, the diversity can be sewed into a national identity in a platform and slogan we know as Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Dr. Drajat further explained that in that context celebrating Pancasila Day has to be accompanied with togetherness and hope to approach a better life as a nation and as a country. Pancasila as a guiding star has a vision and missions which give the country an orientation for the development in the future. As the nation’s positive energy, Pancasila keeps giving hope for the future, especially in crystallizing Indonesia’s vision and missions.

“As an inclusive nation we need a dialectic cultural and political management unit. It means that the existing diversity has to be managed naturally and culturally and developed to build Tamansari Kebudayaan (Culture Paradise), which enables all living beings to thrive in a healthy ecosystem. Indonesia is for all of us and Pancasila is home for all of us,” he explained.

For that, we need an awareness and understanding to mutually respect each other, cooperate, and gotong royong in order to solve existing problems. Such condition can develop through a democratic politics culture. We, Indonesia, and Pancasila, are a confident, optimistic, and hopeful figure in approaching the future as a developed, fair, and prosperous nation.

With the commemoration of Pancasila Day, June 1 2019, Pancasila has to become a hope politic inspiration in life as a nation and a country. All of us have to continuously and consistently manifest Pancasila as a national principle, ideology, and view which can bring prosperity and happiness to all of Indonesia constituents. We unite in building the nation to realize a peaceful and just society in prosperity. We are Indonesia, we are Pancasila. (Ard)
