IPB Animal Husbandry Innovation in Bojonegoro Regency
The Institute for Research and Community Service, IPB University (LPPM IPB) shares the role in the implementation of the action research on Agromaritim 4.0 IPB in 2019 in Bojonegoro Regency. Dr. Aji Hermawan (Head of LPPM IPB), Prof. Dr. Agik Suprayogi (Deputy Head of LPPM IPB in Research), Prof. Dr. Muladno (Chair of the Animal Husbandry School Unit / SPR LPPM IPB), Dr. Asep Gunawan (Coordinator of the IPB Research Team) conducted a gathering and at the same time delivered IPB researchers to the Bojonegoro Regency government which was received directly by the Regent, Dr. Hj. Anna Muawanah.
"The action research of Agromaritim 4.0 IPB in 2019 was held at the Mega Jaya People's Animal Husbandry School (SPR), Bojonegoro Regency. This research is expected to be able to improve the capability of the livestock business system in the Mega Jaya SPR in the era of industry 4.0, "said Dr. Aji Hermawan. On the same occasion, Prof. Agik conveyed the concept of IPB in building SPR in Bojonegoro Regency as well as unraveling the principle of the "Quadriple-Helix" or (ABGC) series of cooperation which put more emphasis on the principle of sharing roles and responsibilities. The output of this action research is the establishment of the Mega Jaya SPR towards superior and modern farms in the next 3-4 years. "This is characterized by the presence of various technological innovations including livestock e-ID, digital-based livestock management system, adequate water supply and animal feed, and educational ecotourism landscape models," he said.
The selection of the Mega Jaya SPR was chosen as the location for the research on the actions of IPB Agromaritim because they had graduated from school according to the guidance standards of LPPM IPB. This readiness was conveyed by Prof. Muladno as Chair of the SPR Unit of LPPM IPB, "Mega Jaya SPR in Kasiman Subdistrict, Bojonegoro Regency has received the" Workers' Literature Charter from IPB in 2017, which means that the SPR has graduated according to the guidance standards of LPPM IPB, and this SPR graduation is capital for "continues to develop towards superior and modern farms based on Agromaritim 4.0-IPB," explained Prof. Muladno.
Regent of Bojonegoro, Dr. Hj. Anna Muawanah welcomed the action research plan at the Bojonegoro SPR and thanked IPB for being proactive since 2014 until now paying attention to farmers in the region. "We understand the role of IPB is very large in the development of SPR through action research activities that will be carried out, considering that this has indeed become a program of the Regional Government (Pemda) of Bojonegoro Regency, but it has not been implemented considering our human resources are not ready to face the industrial era 4.0, and we thankful that IPB is proactive in helping us, "he continued. The Regent said that the Regional Government would take a role in efforts to develop superior and modern farms initiated by LPPM IPB.
After a meeting with the Regional Government of Bojonegoro Regency, the Team of LPPM IPB made a visit to the research location (Mega Jaya SPR) and held a meeting with the local GPPT (Representatives of Livestock Owners Representative) accompanied by the Bojonegoro Regency Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Office at the Mega Jaya SPR Secretariat. The Chairperson of GPPT, Darwanto, on the occasion expressed his feeling of happiness because IPB still continued to oversee the development of their SPR and the presence of IPB was very much needed to face various challenges faced up to now. Prof. Muladno said that the challenge of the Mega Jaya SPR is indeed increasingly hard considering that it has grown with good institutional and collective business, but in the future this will not be enough so that new innovations and new technologies in the SPR need to be able to face the challenges and saturations that exist.
On the same occasion, Dr. Asep Gunawan conveyed that there were six action research titles to be carried out, namely 1) Development of e-ID Based Digital Registration and Registration System for Livestock Management in Bojonegoro SPR, 2) Optimization of Integrated Food and Forage Production Systems to Develop Production Quota Models, 3) Models Sustainable Agribusiness Zone Masterplan at the Bojonegoro People's Farm School, 4) Livestock Grading System to Support Digital-Based Breeding Programs at Bojonegoro SPR, 5) Development of Animal Health Data Acquisition System in Digital-Based Beef Cattle, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things in Bojonegoro Regency, 6) Water Resources Potential and Mapping of Animal Feed Cultivation Land.
At the end of the meeting Prof. Agik expressed his hope that this IPB Agromaritim 4.0-based action research would work well in the Mega Jaya SPR and would be a new innovation model that could be replicated to other regions in Indonesia. "This kind of research is important given the vision of the Rector of IPB including the implementation of the concept and development of Agromaritim 4.0 IPB research that must be actualized in the field in collaboration with local governments, the private sector, and the community," he said.
