Tomorrow IPB Submits Candidate List of IPB MWA Members for the Period 2019-2024 to Kemenristekdikti

IPB University Board of Trustees (MWA) for the 2014-2019 period will end soon (July 3, 2019). In accordance with the applicable provisions that one month before its term of office ends, the Academic Senate (SA) which has the authority to elect a MWA membership, must select candidates for the IPB MWA members for the 2019-2024 period. Furthermore, the selected MWA member candidates will be determined by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti) to become members of the 2019-2024 period.

“God willing, tomorrow we will go to Kemenristekdikti to submit a list of selected 2019-2024 MWA members,” said Prof. Dodi Nandika, Chair of SA IPB at the Dramaga IPB Campus, Bogor, Monday (27/5).

The IPB MWA is the organ of IPB which composes and defines the general policy of IPB. The IPB MWA also has the authority to appoint and dismiss the rector and vice-rector, as well as pay attention to IPB’s internal aspirations, among others from lecturers, students and education staff, as well as the aspirations of external parties, among others, from the community and regional government in the framework of developing IPB.

According to him, based on the selection process carried out by the Ad Hoc Committee (PAH) chaired by Prof. Dr. Dietriech Geoffrey Bengen since April 4, 2019, was selected 17 candidates for the IPB MWA members for the period 2019-2024. Of the 17 members, four represent the elements of society. The 17 candidates for the MWA are eight people representing the elements of the IPB Academic Senate, namely Prof. Dr. Bambang Purwantara, Prof. Dr. Dietriech Geoffrey Bengen, Prof. Dr. Evy Damayanthi, Prof. Dr. Indra Jaya, Prof. Dr. Purwiyatno Hariyadi, Prof. Dr. Slamet Susanto, Prof. Dr. Tridoyo Kusumastanto and Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono. One person represents the element of the Education Personnel, namely Sofyan, S.Si., M.Sc., one person represents the Student element, namely Muhammad Nurdiyansyah and one person representing the alumni element, namely Ir. R. Fathan Kamil.

For community elements, Dr. Agus Joko Pramono (Member II of the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Audit Agency), Ir. Sunarso, MBA (Deputy President Director of BRI), Mochamad Ridwan Kamil, S.T.M.U.D (Governor of West Java) and Ir. Muhammad Nadjikh (CEO of PT. Kelola Mina Laut). In addition, Menristekdikti and IPB Rector as MWA members ex officio.

The process of selecting candidates for MWA is based on SA IPB regulation Number 16/SA-IPB/P/2016 concerning Procedures for the Election, Proposal and Inter-Time Substitution of IPB MWA Members from the Elements of the Academic Senate, Education Personnel, Students, Alumni, and Society and Regulations SA IPB Number 24/SA-IPB/P/2018 concerning Operational Guidelines for Intermediate Election, Proposal and Substitution Procedures for IPB MWA Members Academic Senate, Education Personnel, Students, Alumni, and Communities Period 2019 – 2024.

“For the selection of elements of the community, initially there were 16 names proposed. After our selection is based on gait, time flexibility and commitment to the progress of IPB, the four names that appear are the highest in value. We have asked for all four of them,” he said.
