In commemoration of 2019 Kartini Day, Agrianita IPB University held a cooking competition for fried rice. The fried rice cooking competition which was held on Saturday (4/20), at Wisma Landhuis, Campus of IPB University Dramaga, Bogor was divided into two sessions. The first session, participants were asked to cook fried rice for the competition and the second session of the contestants was asked to cook 50 servings of fried rice to be distributed to visitors.

“This activity is an idea from Agrianita IPB University in order to welcome Kartini Day. Later there will be two sessions, namely the truly session for the race and social session, “said the Rector of IPB University, Dr. Arif Satria.

For the competition session, the Chairperson of IPB University Agrianita, Neno Arif Satria said that there were three principles used in the assessment, namely taste, process and appearance. He added, in addition to delicious taste, the contested cuisine must be assessed whether the process is hygienic or not. Whereas to fulfill the principle of display, participants’ cuisine is assessed based on the existing decoration and how to present the menu.

“For the second session, the participants’ cooking results were shared with supporters, visitors, recipients of social services, and visitors who attended,” Neno added.

For the judges, Neno continued, there were at least three judges who assessed the results of the cooking of the contestants. They are Chef Stefu Santoso (President Association of Indonesian Culinary Professionals), Ir. Elvi Rhinilda (Kikkoman Management), and Enny Herry Suhardiyanto (Chair of Agrianita IPB University 2013-2018)

“This is a serious race, so the jury must be competent and pursue in its field,” concluded Neno.
