Private Area Fall Under Information that Must Be Excluded
Private area is a fixed to be included in excluded information. Unless you get a special permit from the person concerned or the concerned person becomes a public official. This was stated by Agus Wijayanto Nugroho, SH, MH, Expert of the Central Information Commission in the Workshop on Public Information Openness and Consequence Test, Tuesday (9/4), at the Dramaga IPB University Campus, Bogor. “If an information has been set aside, but it is not included in the Public Information List (DIP) that has been set, then the information is gray which needs to be reviewed. Therefore, it is updated every six months,” continued Agus.
According to Romanus Ndau Lendong, S.Fil, M.Sc, the Commissioner of the Central Information Commission’s aim was to implement Law No. 14 of 2018 concerning Public Information Openness (KIP) so that the public would know and understand the performance of public bodies. “The more people understand the performance of public bodies, the higher the level of public trust. If public institutions in Indonesia implement this law, Indonesia will be advanced and smart,” said Romanus.
Romanus is concerned, nowadays Indonesian society seems to have masochism, which is happy to see other people difficult. “When there is suffering from others, it is getting viral on social media, rather than giving advice or helping it.”
Romanus further said, in public information disclosure, bad people will be forced to do good, while in dark conditions, good people will become evil. Currently, said Romanus, the most considered clean and open country in the world is Canada, then Denmark and Finland. “In Finland someone can even know the salary of a neighbor. By knowing the salaries of their neighbors, this becomes public control if suddenly the neighbors are suddenly rich whether due to corruption or other causes. Even if you know the neighbor’s salary is low, this will build empathy and help the difficulties of neighbors,” explained Romanus.
Head of IPB Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), Dr. In his speech, Aceng Hidayat revealed this workshop in order to discuss together what information was excluded which was not delivered to the public. “So far in internal IPB, public information is grouped into three criteria, namely information that is generally delivered to the public according to procedures, information submitted to the public with certain requirements by using the highest leadership permission and information that must not be submitted to the public, to protect information from the parties irresponsible. Because, according to our experience, the information we provide is not formal, but it turns out that the information is processed into public information with certain interests. This creates public discomfort,” said Dr. Aceng.
The workshop attended by the leaders of the work unit was moderated by the Secretary of PPID IPB, Ir. Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Sc. On that occasion, the Letter Management Information System Launching and Online Presence of Meeting Attendance was carried out in the IPB Mobile feature by the Director of Information Systems and Digital Transformation of IPB, Ir. Julio Adi Santoso, M.Kom. (RYS)
