Averting Hoax, Fortendik IPB Invites a Discussion with IPB Leaders
With an outstanding number of issues related to the welfare of employees and massive lay-offs, it has motivated IPB University’s Workforce Forum (Fortendik) to take the initiative to invite the leaders of IPB to a discussion, Friday (23/3) at Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
IPB Fortendik chairman Sofyan, S.Pt, M.Si conveys this discussion was aimed at facilitating all the problems related to educational personnel in IPB.
Sofyan added for educational personnel (tendik), the leaders in an institution are like their elders, while Fortendik is like a brother. “Hopefully with this discussion, the participants get information directly from the leaders relevant to the employment policies that have been established, problems and policies that will be done,” said Sofyan.
Sofyan expressed appreciation towards the leaders relevant of increasing the reward related to the Payments System Services (SIJ). “Of course it is the result of hard work by all parties, hopefully in the future it will increase even more. Appreciation was also delivered on Fortendik’s involvement in the organisation of the educational staff (Tendik) and that the leaders involved them in the policy making process. However, problems related to the massive employee layoffs of non-civil servants should be discussed with the leaders of IPB, “said Sofyan.
Vice Rector of Resources, Planning, and Finance IPB, Prof. Agus Purwito convey IPB educators have an important role in improving the quality of higher education. “The challenges ahead are numerous. Other colleges have done a lot to improve the quality. If we do not work hard we will be left behind. We should not be satisfied with our fame, ” said Prof. Agus Purwito.
One of increased professionalism of the tendik is to improve the ability of Information Technology (IT). With high professionalism, the future is expected to force many educators to have a strategic position in college.
“In terms of welfare, Prof. Agus promised to entourage, on how to improve the welfare not only of incentives but also from campus transportation, medical insurance and others. In addition, Prof. Agus explained that IPB’s financial situation is very tight and is trying to compare IPB with several other universities in Indonesia. “IPB’s revenue through students tuition (UKT) is a maximum of 8.1 percent. There are still many parents whose income are categorized into group 1 and 2 students, those of which are students who pay UKT amounted to 1 million rupiah. IPB is especially trying to increase their income from sources other than public funds from UKT. ”
The same thing was conveyed by the Director of Human Resources (HR) IPB, Dr. Sumarti pointed that education personnel are directed to become a professional staff. “With the increasing professionalism and improvement of their competence, mobilization of tendik abroad is also a necessity.
