IPB Strengthened Ties with Saga University: Veterinary Medicine Collaboration and More Student Mobility

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) strengthened once again its academic collaboration with Saga University, Japan. The partnership was marked by courtesy visit by Rector of Saga University—Prof. Kohji Miyazaki and delegations to IPB on last February 15th, 2019 in IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor. IPB delightfully welcomed the collaboration with Saga University, especially in the field of student exchange and the procurement of a double degree program between IPB and Saga University. The strengthening of the current collaboration is focused on cooperation in the academic field. Some agreements discussed included teacher and student exchanges, joint research, publications, and symposiums. On the same occasion was also discussed the plan to develop cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine. This collaboration enabled both IPB and Saga University to strengthen cooperation further, for IPB has a Faculty of Veterinary Medicine while Saga University has a Faculty of Medicine. Regarding the student exchange program, a discussion session was conducted directly by Ms. Kanami Yamada, International Coordination, Center for Promotion of International Exchange, Saga University, and Mr. Daisuke Izumo, Officer at the International Affairs Division, Academic Research Cooperation, Saga University. During the discussion, the session was explained by the international programs organized by Saga University. Some of the programs presented were student exchange, research exchange, and postgraduate program registration for both master and doctoral programs. IPB and Saga University have been in engaged in collaboration link for not less than 10 years, hence this visit is expected to boost for more growth of the joint projects between the two counterparts.
