IPB Gives Appreciation to 372 Partner Companies and Scholarship Providers

As a token of gratitude for partners, both companies and scholarship providers, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) gave an appreciation for every partner at Sunday (9/12) in Agribusiness and Development Station, Bogor. On the other side, this appreciation has a purpose to strengthen the partnership with partner companies and scholarship providers. This appreciation was directly given by IPB Rector, Dr. Arif Satria, accompanied by the Vice Rectors, Deans, Head of Departments, and Head of Agrianita IPB.

“I express many thanks for all donors that have worked together in eradicating poverty in Indonesia. These donors have the most important and concrete role in helping in poverty eradication through scholarship programs bestowed to students,” said IPB Rector.

IPB Rector also said that IPB as a university is fully committed in eradicating poverty through education. According to him, through education, poverty eradication can be easily realized. With education, a child will try to lift the family’s economy, especially poor families.

With this appreciation, IPB Rector hopes that scholarship donors to keep supporting IPB with their scholarship programs. He also hopes that the scholarships given will not be limited for S1 students, but also S2 students.

“As many as 53 percent of IPB students come from poor families with parents’ income less than 4 million rupiah per month. That kind of students are the ones that we need to support. If necessary, give to them scholarship for S2 program,” said IPB Rector.

He emphasized, only eight percent of IPB students can pay tuition according to the designated amount. Even though there are many students coming from poor family, IPB students’ enthusiasm to keep studying and making creations. That can be proven with IPB students’ achievements in national or international scale. (Ard)
