IPB and Tokai University Create Academic Cooperation
Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems Institute of Agriculture (IPB), Prof. Dr. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat and Executive Manager of Kyushu Campuses, Tokai University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Meeting Room, Tokai University Kumamoto (TUK), Japan (8/12).
In addition to the IPB, on the same occasion TUK also establish similar cooperation with the University of Padjadjaran (Unpad).
IPB and TUK agreed to establish academic cooperation over the next five years for activities such as exchanges of researchers, lecturers and professors, exchange graduate, exchange of academic information and other things that benefit both sides, joint research and other cooperation as agreed by both parties.
“This cooperation is to support the research and education process that is mutually beneficial for both universities,” said Prof. Dodik.
According to the cooperation originates from activities conducted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the “Supporting SMEs in Overseas Business Project” in West Java. In this program, JICA made efforts to increase productivity, processing and product development of plantation of strawberries. They have been doing supervision to producers, local authorities and faculty at a nearby college.
“Since 2017, several experts from the faculty of agriculture and industry in TUK technology, which supports the JICA project, continue to cooperate with the agricultural faculty of IPB and Padjadjaran University. Since then, IPB and Padjadjaran University started discussing about academic collaboration opportunities in the direction of the student exchange and joint research.
