West Java Governor Involves IPB to Build One Village One Company
The Governor of West Java (Jabar), Ridwan Kamil expects the collaboration of tInstitut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in drafting the concept and implementation of the mainstay of the West Java Provincial Government program, One Village One Company. This was conveyed by Ridwan Kamil when meeting the Rector of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria and his entourage to discuss the development of the Study Program Campus Outside the Main Campus, Vocational School, Institut Pertanian Bogor (PSDKU SV-IPB) Sukabumi at the Governor's Office, Bandung, Wednesday (31/10).
Ridwan Kamil will involve IPB to conduct research to determine the commodities needed by the market and look for corporate partners as buyers (off takers). "Basically, one village one company program is a strategy to overcome economic inequality in West Java in the hope that rural residents can be more independent without having to migrate to urban areas." Ridwan Kamil further said, the program of one village one company is expected to attract young people to pursue fields agricultural business by utilizing digital technology platforms (internet, drones and e-commerce). "I hope that IPB can produce alumni who can later work as CEOs who lead companies in the village," he said.
On that occasion, the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said, currently the Sukabumi SV-IPB PSDKU Campus is being built on a 30-hectare land in Cibeureum District, Sukabumi City. "On this campus two buildings are currently being built, namely the Academic Building and the Administration Building. In addition, the campus lab / industry will be built on this campus, "said the Rector.
Dean of the Vocational School of IPB, Dr. Ir. Arief Daryanto, MEc added, so far SV IPB has established very good cooperation with various parties in utilizing the various laboratories they manage in Sukabumi for the needs of the practice of vocational students. "Among them is cooperation with the Center for Freshwater Aquaculture (BBPBAT) Sukabumi and the Cikundul Agribusiness Area covering an area of 4.5 hectares, which is currently being developed into the Horticulture Zone. This zone consists of Screen House, Tissue Culture Laboratory, Hydroponics and Mushroom Houses, Fisheries Zone, Animal Husbandry Zone and Plant Library Zone, which are equipped with biogas processing and playgrounds, "said Dr. Arief.
