Cleanliness is part of faith. This wise message inspired the Rector of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria to go directly into the Clean Friday Action at the Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (23/11). Clean Friday is an effort to realize the IPB campus environment that is clean, healthy, neat and comfortable. The focus is on cleaning the drainage along the Dramaga campus. This activity will continue to be held every Friday until December 24, 2018.

In this Clean Friday activity, the staff of the rector together with the units of the General Bureau, Facilities and Infrastructure shoulder to shoulder working together to clean up in the area around the rector to the Graha Widya Wisuda Building. Clean Friday activities are also carried out simultaneously in other work units in the Departments and Faculties, including within the General Competency Education Program (PPKU).

Mutual cooperation is carried out to clean trash, gravel, and weeds that block the road body, as well as waterways.

According to Dr. Arif, cleanliness is something that must be attached to each of the academic community of IPB. Therefore, we must encourage it through a Clean Friday movement to be followed by all parties including students, lecturers, education staff and cleaning staff.

"So if the campus is clean, people will be comfortable living on campus. If people are comfortable living on campus, this campus will be more productive and can provide more benefits for more work," said the Rector of IPB.

The Rector also urged that the Clean Friday action activities be followed by all work units within the IPB. So that the campus of IPB is maintained its cleanliness and everyone will be comfortable running activities in working optimally.

"Hopefully this is a good first step for the IPB campus to care about the environment," said the Rector.

Not only the act of community service, Clean Friday was also marked by other interesting actions such as those conducted at the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) which held a Garbage Donation movement. (RYS)
