IPB Rector Gives Response towards the Fortendik Chairman’s Hope related to Welfare
Chairperson of the Education Personnel Forum (Fortendik) for the period 2018-2020, Sofyan, M.Si, through the message of his traditional poetry requested the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, to pay attention to the welfare of education staff. This was revealed by Sofyan when giving a remarks at the Inauguration of the IPB Fortendik Management for the period 2018-2020, Friday (11/23), at IPB Dramaga Campus.
The following was the rhyme delivered by the Chairperson of IPB Fortendik (in bahasa Indonesia):
"Buah mangga berdaun kelor (Mango fruit is leaved by moringa),
Dimakan sedikit dengan klewih dan durian (Eaten a little with breadnut and durian),
Kami bangga pada Pak Rektor (We are proud of the Chancellor),
Kesejahteraan tendik jikalau lebih diperhatikan (Please give more attention to the welfare of education staff)."
Responding to the Fortendik Chairman's poetry, the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, replied in a joking tone, "The welfare should not be taken into account, but it must be improved and felt. The demand for attention is an easy matter, but improving it is a joint task."
The Chancellor of IPB hoped that Fortendik can become a partner who always supports him, especially related to human resource policies, so that remuneration can continue to be improved. "We try our best to increase the prosperity, then, all of us will feel good. "
IPB Rector reviewed again the disruption era which is full of uncertainty. Many large companies eventually collapsed because they could not take opportunities. So does the education sector. IPB's rivals are not only major Indonesian state universities but also new universities that are starting to emerge.
Since IPB is considered as the most responsive university in the era of disruption, so IPB Chancellor has been requested to become a speaker in various forums, both in domestic and foreign forums, to deliver insight and future.
For this reason, the Rector of IPB added that Fortendik must also carry out many studies and analysis to anticipate the future. "How we can work faster and more creative in the future," he asked.
Regarding the welfare of education staff, the Chancellor said, "We build a commitment about this. For example, we increase IPB insurance, which was only used for inpatient care, later it can be used for outpatient care. We also utilize our clinic facility because it has become a level 1 health facility for BPJS health service. The biggest key to welfare is in education and health. We will also think about education of the children of education staff. Hopefully the education staff of IPB can always be united," explained the Rector of IPB.
Regarding the inauguration of the board, Sofyan said that this was an important step. "Being inaugurated by the Chancellor means that the existence of Fortendik is recognized by the leaders," he explained.
Sofyan explained that Fortendik's management comes from various work units. They are not only civil servants, but also non-civil servants. Representatives are not only from senior staff but also junior officers, so that the management cadre can keep going. Fortendik is a place of friendship where IPB communities can remind each other, guide each other and love each other in order to create an intimate and harmonious atmosphere. Fortendik was formed to bridge and strengthen the policies made by the leaders of IPB and the respective duties and functions carried out by education staff. "Fortendik is also expected to be a facilitator in improving the performance competency of education staff, by holding seminars and technical training in collaboration with other institutions related to Fortendik," Sofyan explained.
