IPB Collaborates with Its Alumni to Produce Quality Graduates

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB)’s participation in the 14th QS-APPLE in Cung Ang University, Seoul, caught the attention of the delegates. During the second day, Indonesian delegates wore traditional attires to introduce Indonesian culture. During that occasion, the President of Chung Ang University visited Indonesia’s stand.

In that day, the Vice Rector of Cooperation and Information System of IPB, Prof Dodik R Nurrohmat and the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr Syarifah Iis Aisyah presented a paper with the title “Promoting Graduate Empoloyability through Alumni Mentoring and Internship Programs”.

The focus of this program is to include the alumni to improve the qualities of fresh graduates which will have a career in multinational companies (MNC), as well as those who want to be an entreprenur. These alumni act as coaches in entreprenurship platforms, such as Sabisa Farm, Program Mahasiswa Wirausaha (Entrepreneur Students Program), and Kompetisi Bisnis Mahasiswa Indonesia (Indonesian Students Business Competition).

IPB targets that 400 new entrepreneurs will grow every year. The last program that has just developed was the Mentoring Leader, which is run by IPB Alumni Organization. After the first selection process, 70 mentee were chosen, and will be guided by 70 mentors who are professionals in their respective field.

It is expected that the mentee, aside from teaching themselves to be good leaders, also can pass the knowledge to its juniors in paving the way for more and better new leader.
