Utilizing Waterless Tissue to Wash Dishes, IPB Student Get First Place in Business Plan Competition
Another amazing achievement was brought by three students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Nauvaldy Achmad Fachreza (Department of Agroindustrial Technology), Anggita Nurul Annisa (Department of Statistics) and Alfiyyah Hasanah (Department of Mathematics). They successfully get the first place in National Business Plan Competition. The business plan competition for students was one event from a series of Entrepreneur Business Plan Administration that was held by the Student Association for Business Administration of University of Telkom Bandung, (6/10).
Nauvaldy, Anggia, and Alfiyyah proposed an idea of making a tissue to clean eating utensils without using water. The product was named Dish Tissue (Dishue). Dishue contained a solution that was able to remove fat and food waste in the utensils. There were various aromas of Dishue that could get rid of bad odor from a container. Dishue was made to be practical so it can be brought by travelers. To this day, Dishue had received orders from several areas in Jabodetabek.
This business idea initially came from the Student Creativity Program (PKM) that was funded but did not continue to reach the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS). Wanting to get an experience in business competition, they finally registered their product in Entrepreneur Business Plan Administration with an addition of number of products. After passing the proposal selection, 10 teams were competing in presentation stage. The presentation stage was participated by various universities; Telkom University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Tarumanegara University, Brawijaya University, Hassanudin University, Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University, and IPB.
“We did not find any meaningful difficulty because we have been preparing a lot since the preparation of PKM. From the last presentation, we also got a lot of feedbacks from the judges, for example marketing and tissue material. The target market can be focused to children and mothers. The material for tissue is suggested to be changed into a more environmental friendly material like chitosan,” said Alfiyyah.
In the future Alfiyyah wanted Dishue product to get a distribution license, so it can reach even wider market, can be sold outside campus and also in the nearest minimarket. Alfiyah also wanted to have his own productions tools, so there would be no need to borrow from the lab. (CN)
