Prof. Hanny Wijaya Wins Outstanding Lecturer in Science Technology at IPB Level
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hanny Wijaya, Professor of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was officially named as the Outstanding Lecturer at IPB in the field of Science and Technology at the end of July. The election of Prof. Hanny as the Outstanding Lecturer can’t be separated from the action and her work in producing various innovations in the field of food science and food technology.
“At first, I only worked as the representatives of my department to join the faculty selection. When I was annuonced as the 1st outstanding lecturer for the faculty level, it was a shocking news but I am very grateful and happy to gain the trust to fight at the university level. Especially when it passed the IPB level, it was very unexpected. I am very proud and happy, but the work hasn’t done yet, I still have to fight on the national level” said Prof. Hanny Wijaya
Prof Hanny explains that by being elected as an outstanding lecturer representing the university, she’ll carry bigger responsibility to make IPB success on the national level.
In 2018, Prof. Hanny holds important positions in institutions and various associations in related fields. including as Head of Food Chemistry Division, Fateta – IPB, Hokkaido University Ambassador, President of Indonesian Society for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals (ISFFN), President of Indonesian Flavor and Fragrance Association (AFFI). In addition, Prof. Hanny also became a researcher at the Biopharmaca Research Center and the Seafast Center for the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) IPB.
Even if she got the limited time and busy schedule, it won’t stop her for give more dedication. Everyone has the same amount of time, 24 hours. To be able to manage the time well, Prof. Hanny will choose the priority by utilizing time as efficient as possible. If there are things that can be solved collaboratively, then the synergy in "teamwork" is the solution.
The most important thing is that we have to enjoy our time while working because if we don’t enjoy it , our work will be hard to control. I also want to say thanks to my assistant, Ms. Ira and sir Hendar, thet helps me to prepare the files. Higher ups of Faculty of Agricultural Technology also support me,” said Prof. Hanny Wijaya
Prof. Hanny has dedicated herself to nation’s education since graduating from college (1982). For approximately 36 years, she has become a lecturer and scientist in the field of food science and technology.
Prof. Hanny hopes that in the future, she can continue to benefit others, especially in the development of food technology. "I am currently researching more about the sources of food from Indonesian natural resources combined with local wisdom. The aim of my research is to be used sustainably to improve the health and welfare of the Indonesian people," concluded Prof. Hanny, a compounder of Eucalyptus Oil Candy (Cajuputs Candy ) . (Jhn)
