IPB Establishes Collaboration with PT. TSI to Develops Crab Cultivation
Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) is one of the best state university that plays important role in the development of better Human Resources (HR) and Science and Technology (Iptek) for Indonesia agricultural development. IPB has always expanded its steps to prepare productive people and pioneered the development of science and technology in the fields of agriculture, marine and tropical biosciences for the Nation’s advancement.
IPB always cooperates with others to strengthen the network. One of them was the signing of a memorandum of understanding and the cooperation agreement between IPB and PT. Tritunggal Segara Indonesia (TSI) which took place in the Rector's Meeting Room, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, Friday (28/9).
The signing of a memorandum of understanding (memorandum of understanding / MoU) was also attended by the Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto, Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Prof. Dr. Agus Purwito, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Dodik Ridho Nurohmat, Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Erika Budiarti Laconi, and Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Dr. Luky Adrianto.
The signing of this memorandum of understanding contains cooperation in the fields of education, research and community service with the theme "Integrated Aquaculture Research – Business Model" between IPB and PT Tritunggal Segara Indonesia.
Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria welcomed this collaboration. "IPB always cooperates with various parties. This collaboration is carried out in order to strengthen research from FPIK in Ancol, so that FPIK can be a representation of IPB in Ancol. I hope that this collaboration can start immediately after the signing of the MoU, "said Arif Satria
Director of PT Tritunggal Segara Indonesia, Hendra Sugandhi also welcomed this new collaboration. "We represent PT Tritunggal Segara Indonesia, thanking you for the opportunity to establish cooperation with IPB. "It is an honor for PT TSI to develop vertical crab cultivation using modern technology, and this is the first in Indonesia,"said Hendra Sugandhi.
According to Hendra Sugandhi, the priority of PT. TSI is to develop cultivation of soka crabs, enlargement of mud crabs, and enlargement of lobsters. Hendra hopes that this collaboration can be a role model of synergy between the business and academic world in developing resort models and aquaculture business, especially crab cultivation.
"I hope this collaboration can give idea to new entrepreneurs and can empower people in the coastal areas. We will also train students who already graduated to become independent entrepreneurs and oversee colonies around the coast in developing mangrove crab cultivation. Hopefully this collaboration can be the first step for PT TSI and IPB and can be developed into other fields, " concluded Hendra Sughandhi. (Jhn)
